NESTS is an annual gathering of graduate students in Science, Technology, and Society (or Science and Technology Studies) for the Northeastern United States and Canada.
Who organizes and attends NESTS?
NESTS is coordinated by a partnership of volunteer STS students from Cornell, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, MIT, York, and other universities. Each year the location and planning of the event rotates between the participating STS departments. All graduate students doing work related to STS are welcome, from these or any other universities.
What does NESTS include?
NESTS brings STS students together for a fun weekend of connection and discussion. It is typically a 48-hour event starting with a welcome party on Friday evening followed by a Saturday and Sunday of student presentations with opportunities for group questions and feedback. There’s also a Saturday night social evening offering more time to chat with one another over drinks.
When and where is the next NESTS Conference?
NESTS 2017 was held April 21-23 in Toronto, Ontario and hosted by the STS Department of York University. For information about upcoming events, please subscribe to our mailing list.
